We have and really enjoyed "Dear Girl,". We expected the same quality and level of empowerment in this sequel. Not an over the top expectation when "Dear Boy" is called "a companion to the bestseller" "Dear Girl".Instead of empowering it basically preached how a boy should act and behave. The double standard between the books is flagrant. "Dear Girl" full of empowerment. "Dear Boy" is full of lessons like "Yes means yes. Anything else means NO". Yeah, good message, but I'll take care of that conversation.Oddly enough, there is also next to no mention of boys in "Hello Girl", with a total of 5 pictures of boys. There are 22 pictures of girls in "Dear Boy,", along with constant reference to them.Long story short, "Dear Girl" book was empowering. "Dear Boy" fell short of that message and is pushing a different (although good) agenda/message.
