(Willis). A book for the early beginner combining rote and note approach. The melodies are written with careful thought and are kept as simple as possible, yet they are refreshingly delightful. All the music lies within the grasp of the child's small hands. A best-seller around the world! Teacher accompaniments are available in a separate book - Teaching Little Fingers to Play Ensemble (412228). NOTE: The latest reprint (2017) features fewer fingerings and refreshed images.
As a piano teacher, I LOVE this book! This is the first book I learned on 25 years ago and this is what I use to teach all of my students. Each page has a new concept to learn and practice. Instead of needing 3 or 4 separate books that some other methods need, the student only needs to keep track of one book. The pictures are colorful and engaging, the songs are catchy, and my students all love that they are able to play songs from the very first lesson. I only use Thompson books for my lessons. I would 100% recommend this method!
